Scientific profile


Martine Ros, MSc, is a nutritional scientist at the Centre for Nutrition and Health of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in Bilthoven. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam in 2003. In September 2005 she obtained her Masters degree in Nutrition and Health at the Wageningen University, with specialisation Epidemiology and Public Health. After her graduation, she started working at the Centre for Nutrition and Health where she did research on the consumption of vegetables and fruits and cancer risk within the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition. Furthermore, she did research on the effects of use of phytosterol enriched foods on the persistence to statin therapy in hyperlipidemic patients, and on the effect of phytosterol consumption on the formation of the anabolic steroid boldenone.
